Diana Ross

Our journey with Diana Ross began when Safe Harbor Animal Coalition received a heartfelt plea for help from a compassionate resident residing in an income-based community development. In this neighborhood, spaying and neutering for companion pets were a rarity, and the community was undergoing a complete transformation with demolitions and new construction underway.

As the structures crumbled, the local community cats found refuge in an area not yet touched by reconstruction. The resident reached out with photos of two fragile, sick kittens, alongside their determined mom who was doing her utmost to care for them while recovering from an upper respiratory infection (URI).

With food and water provided by the residents, these displaced kittens clung to hope. Seeing the condition of the two ailing kittens, Safe Harbor Animal Coalition knew immediate action was required. In total, 14 cats were in peril, and our mission was clear.

Nine of these brave souls found their way to the sanctuary, finding safety and comfort under our care. The resident, showing unwavering compassion, adopted one adult female and two kittens, providing them with forever homes.

And the two initially sick kittens? They received the love and medical attention they deserved and made full recoveries, finding loving families of their own.

This heartwarming story is a testament to the power of community. It was not just a community problem; it was also a community solution. Diana Ross proudly steps into the spotlight to represent her fellow colony members who have chosen to bask in the sanctuary's comforting shadows.
