Margarita
In the heart of North Foley, a tiny, determined soul known as Margarita captured our hearts with her unwavering spirit.
This little girl introduced herself by boldly crossing the tops of three feeding tubs, insisting on being the first point of contact every day. We trapped and returned her, but destiny had other plans.
Months later, we noticed she was struggling with what seemed to be an upper respiratory infection, and large patches of lost fur. By then, she had become semi-social, so we brought her back to the clinic for a closer look. However, she found her way back to the front colony once more.
It was then that we made a decision that would change her life forever. We trapped her for relocation to our sanctuary, where she underwent comprehensive testing. The results were tough to hear. She tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus).
Today, she calls the "Special Kneads Yard" her home, a special haven where she reigns supreme. In the "Yard," she rules the barn and takes center stage, strutting her stuff with laser-like eyes and a cheeky little tongue peeking out, ready for all the affection she demands. Most days, she's easily recognizable by her ever-present "bad hair day."
This sweet little girl may not even realize her own fragility, but she has shown us the true meaning of resilience and the boundless capacity of the feline heart.
Margarita continues to thrive in our sanctuary. Despite her initial health challenges, she now greets caretakers enthusiastically, her tongue always peeking out in her endearing way. Though still a bit reserved, Margarita relishes the affection she receives and has become a favorite among many. Still residing in the "Special Kneads Yard," she reigns with confidence, her unmistakable charm capturing the hearts of all who meet her.
